Day 42

Ammon: I’m just going to work, cause it’s really hot.

Me: Oh? Where are you going to work?

Ammon: I’m going to work at Deep Grey like Dad!

Me: Well, you will need your camera then…

Ammon: Alright! I will get it!

Yes he does love his Daddy so:)

“Ingredients” for making a play SLR:

  • 1 x small box cut to size
  • 1 x curling ribbon tube (comes with the plastic base “lens” with a hole in it)
  • 1 x medicine dropper (the rubber squeezy bit was used upside down for the shutter button, and the screw lid for the mode dial)
  • Black paint
  • Sticky tape (paint before you tape!;)
  • Silver pen (it did rub off the paint a little- hence the sticky tape on it to stop it rubbing off).
  • Black and Red ribbon.
  • Scissors
  • Craft Glue (for sticking on the dial)

(You can see an un-finished shot of the camera here http://fionasthings.com/2012/01/day-11/)

My rule was to only use things we had lying around at home:) The inspiration came from Ammon finding some curling ribbon and stringing it around his neck. Looking through the tube he then said, “I got a camera!”.

And to finish off, I couldn’t resist a couple more images- Ammon was serenading us after his bath with his new guitar. He sang us twinkle twinkle little star, amongst a few other of his favourites. Stinking cute!
