Day 176

It has been so chilly the past week (still looking forward to the house being insulated;). After all the workers left yesterday, Nana took Ammon shopping and got him some cute gloves and fun grasshopper slippers to wear in the mornings. He has been wearing the slippers pretty much from the moment they got home yesterday. Thanks Nana!

At 3:30am this morning we had a surprise visit from a naughty robber! Luckily I heard him cracking the back door open and we scared him off and called the police before he managed to take anything. Still painful none the less! I felt really blessed though. Last night we went out and got home exhausted. We climbed into bed early and as I lay there I had an overwhelming urge to get up and do some washing. (This is VERY out of character for me- I’m not big on things like washing, so for me to get up out of my cozy bed to do some washing was a bit deal). I told Adam I was going downstairs to put a load on, and he said not to be silly, tomorrow was Sunday anyway and I should just go to sleep. I couldn’t shake my sudden cleaning bug and ducked down to put the wash on. After I hit the start button, my hand automatically reached out and hit the back door handle. I was surprised to find it unlocked. So I locked it, and went back to bed. Had I have not done so, the thief would have walked straight into our home, and I would have woken up to him in our house (I am a super light sleeper). It was the banging of his breaking the lock that had initially woken me up. I shudder to think what could have happened had he have been startled in our house. I know my Heavenly Father was watching over us and prompting me to “put on the washing”. For the gift of the Holy Ghost, I am grateful.
