Day 233

Ammon has been obsessively playing “Octonaughts” for the past couple of days. His firemen have become the Octonaughts. Today I surprised him by getting some deodorant caps out of the cupboard for him to use as “helmets”. He was over the moon. I love how such simple things can bring so much happiness to kids. A couple of deodorant lids that will keep him entertained for weeks.

It takes me back to my childhood… My Nan always had a massive big tub full of lids. Hairspray lids, milk lids, moisturizer caps you name the plasic lid, it was probably in there. As soon as we would get to her house- it was the first thing we would ask to play with. The lids became tables and chairs for little figurines collected over the years and it would keep us entertained for hours. I love that now, when I take Ammon over to Nan & Pa’s there is still a big box of lids for the kids to play with- and they are still as exciting as they were when I was a kid.
