Day 363

This morning I walked into my room a while after putting Abe down for his nap and my breath caught when I saw my little boy sleeping in my bed. All of a sudden, he didn’t seem so babyish anymore and a bitter sweet sadness wash over me momentarily. As I continued my gaze, the sadness melted and I felt excited for the little boy I soon would meet as he starts talking and his little personality begins to shine through.

Today we had made plans to catch up with Nana and Poppa at the park for a BBQ… then a storm hit and we thought surely it would be postponed and dinner would be at one of our houses. Nope, it was still set, so off we went to the park in the pouring rain! Ammon had been too excited all day for us to consider postponing- he had been so pumped to go bike riding.

I grabbed a plastic bag and cut some arm holes and a hole for his head, a makeshift raincoat so he could still ride a while. Soon he was freezing and drying off under the picnic shelter.

A wild afternoon, but a fun one that he will remember!
